On 28 and 29 October 2019, a team of 20 students came together to organise the first ever Funza summit at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa.

Dr Maina WaGíokò, head of Profesional Development Centre at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, was invited by Dr Augustine Mwangi, a committee member of the first international conference in Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL) to deliver a keynote address at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Academy students won laurels at the PIPSSA National Swimming Competiton, 2019 held at Oshwal Academy Mombasa on 5 October.
