The two month-long inaugural Aga Khan Academies exchange programme came to a close just before the semester ended in December 2018, allowing for returning students to reflect, relive and readjust.
Grade 7K’s English unit on poetry came to a close with the students writing poems centered on the theme of celebration, and presenting them to the grade 3s.
Residential students from grades 6-9 took part in an information session by Mr. David Raj, the State Programme Manager, Child Protection Unit, UNICEF, on puberty, adolescence and cyber safety on Friday 7th December 2018.
Close to 150 students from grades 1-5 participated in the production on Friday 30th November 2018. It was conceptualised, scripted and directed collaboratively by a team of faculty in the IB Primary Years Programme at the Academy.
Advait Surana and Aman Nurani of grade 12 were awarded IE University’s Venture Lab award for the best ‘junior business plan’ and won Rs.50,000 in prize money, as well as a scholarship to study any programme of their choice from IE University, Spain.
37 students and faculty members ran the Freedom Hyderabad 10k and 5k runs on Sunday 25th November to promote enthusiasm for health and fitness in the city.
